I currently live in Littlestown, PA and I pay $330 a year for water and sewer.

I have been looking at houses in the Seven Valleys, Glen Rock and New Freedom areas.

I found a house in Seven Valleys that I am seriously interested in but was a little shocked at the sewer and water cost being $1400 a year.
My realtor asked the owner about this and he said its always been that high and made some vague statements that it was suppose to come down at some point but never has.

Is this typical for that area? For Seven Valleys, Glen Rock and New Freedom?

thanks

Where I live, they charge $40 a month, if you use it or not.

For some places like Rest Homes and factories - it is a real bargain.

For me - the cost of sewage is more then double the price that I pay for my drinking water.

Thank PA's system of municipal government, sewage planning a municipal mandate, even the low-cost public funding wants any commuity to charge $55+/mo before applying any grant funds, and with over 2,500 municipalities at least a few will wind up with the short straw on both water and sewer rates since the agencies don't care whether water's $55+ before also making the sewer $55+. So rates don't usually vary by area, as much as by municipality.
