Could you tell me about Gilberstville? I would like to know about the community, taxes, schools, geneeral things like that. We are relocating from the Chicago area and would like some information. Where is the closest train (town it is in) that goes into Philly?

Thank You!!!!

Train into Center City Philly: You have two choices, Norristown
(Manayunk/Norristown Line, formerly called the R6 line), and Malvern or Paoli on the Paoli/Thorndale Line (formerly called the R5). SEPTA just recently renamed all the 'regional rail' lines, from the R numbers to town names where the train terminates. Regional Rail is Philly-speak for commuter train.

If you use Norristown (or Paoli or Malvern), you want to avoid Rt 422, it will be forever slow and bumper-to-bumper inbound in the mornings, and outbound in the evenings. If your relo plans are based on commuting partly by car and then train, a good suggestion is you should drive the routes, take the train at the times you'd be commuting, to be realistic about the time involved. Why wait until you've bought a house and moved to experience the commute for the first time?
