I drove my car for less than a half hour on the first day my inspection sticker had expired. I have an estimate from the garage proving that I had gone to get my car inspected.
My question, are you granted a couple days to pass inspection? or is the deadline the deadline?

Go get inspected. If you get pulled over you will have to explain it to the officer. Not worth the hassle.

There should be a grace period, but this is Pennsylvania so probably not.

cops look for the expired stickers. it's not worth it. get it inspected and fixed fast.

but if you have a note from the garage saying that you went in and are waiting for repairs, and it's only been a day or 2, and if you're really nice to the cop they'll usually let you slide (on the first time they pull you over for it).

As long as you have your dated receipt from the garage, the cops can't ticket you (at least that's what my mechanic told me!). Don't sweat it, but get the repairs done as soon as you can. Apparently cops don't have anything better to do ...

I got caught with a 1 day expired sticker. I had an appointment with a garage for the next day,(He couldn't squeeze me in ). After the cop wrote the ticket I told him about the appointment. He said he hears that all the time but if I really do fight the ticket bring the reciept and he would tell the magistrate to throw it out.

I did he did the magestrate did.

I've also driven around for 2 years on an expired sticker without being caught.
Kind of depends on where you live and the mood of the cop at the time.

Imho I wouldn't sweat a couple days. Like mcmartian said keep the paper with you.
