For those of you familiar with Williamsport, PA, can you recommend a reliable apartment complex for a family of 3?

At first, I applied for Grampian Hills because I thought their furnished apartments come with everything (beds, tables) and it could save me trouble and money. but today I was told I still have to get the furniture myself. Their "furnished" means dryer, washer, carpet, microwave, and that is it.

With their high monthly rent ($920/month) I just can't spare another penny for furniture.

So if you happen to know apartments that are cheaper and nice, can you let me know? Thanks a lot.

Why not just rent a house? There should be plenty of houses to rent for that price and below.

I doubt a house would be fully furnished; however, most homes would probably come with appliances and if the rent on the house is low enough you could go to Rent A Center or Aaron's to rent whatever other furniture you might need (or purchase some).

You might want to call the colleges (Lycoming College and Penn College) to see if they have a list of landlords that they'd be willing to share with you, although that might put you in the middle of student housing. However, a landlord in that area may have things available in other areas too, or know who does.

Also check the local paper, The Williamsport Sun Gazette.

Best of luck to you.

Choose your neighborhood wisely. Check it out personally.
There are a few bad hoods in Williamsport.
