Pretty remote, great lake, nice homes in the area. Not sure if they even have basements. Bermudian Springs School district. Kids would be able to work in East Berlin (maybe). Lake Meade is an oasis in a very rural area of central PA. Can you see it on google earth or on zillow? Perhaps they would be able to show you more of the homes.

Hi, My cousin used to live there for several years, but moved away. As with many semi-private "gated" [guard shack..] communities, it became too much for them. It was nice in the beginning, but the book of "by-laws" put out by the HOA there was getting out of hand and soon resembled a Tokyo phone book. Some of the "rules" in the book were just over the top, so they moved out. He never said much about his neighbours, and the kids would go to the Bermudian Springs School District. Work could possibly be had in East Berlin, Dillsburg, Mt. Holly Springs, Biglerville or any of the other small surrounding towns. Lake Meade has a website here:
Lake Meade Property Owners Association , so you can check it out and decide for yourself. If you don't mind all the rules and regs, it might work out. The East Berlin area is scenic and quiet. Hope this helps. Cheers, Mike
