Hello all my husband and I will be heading to Pa on this upcoming Thursday. We are going to Lancaster and want to visit the amish country and have made plans to see the show Joesph at the sight and sound theatre which I hear that was an awsome theatre and show.
MY husband ask me if I could find some local places to eat at. So far I have found one place Dienner's Country Resturant(thoughts on this place) friends have told me to eat at good and plenaty and millers but I think alot of tourist eat there any help anyone can give. We are staying in a hotel on lIncoln highway E so dont know if that helps.
If anyone can tell me what are the must see that they dont mention in tourist book or evn if you think it is toursity thnks for your time. Tweety

Dienner's isn't bad but consider the Family Cupboard on Route 340, about two miles west of Route 772. Great Mennonite cooking and an all-you-can eat buffet. If you have time take Route 896 south towards Strasburg or even walk through Kitchen Kettle Village at Routes 896 & 772.

Enjoy the show and your visit.

Shady Maple on route 23 about a mile east of Blue Ball. Its huge and the food is very good even for a buffet. Its behind the grocery store but the parking lots connect. There's also a big gift store on the lower level.
It gets crowded but with its sheer size you can get a table and eat pretty quickly.

Although tourists eat at good and plenty and millers, the food there is very good, especially at millers.

Just wanted to say thanks to all, we had a wonderful visit. We ate at 3 of the places. I would rate them Family cuboard number one
Shady maple number two
MIllers 3 thought they were price way to high

My husband was impressed with family cuboard he would recommend that one the most
