I currently rent an apartment in Chester County, PA. and I'm looking to buy a home. I decided on Pottstown, PA. Now it's a matter of figuring out where in Pottstown... I guess my question is, what area should I stay away from in Pottstown (some exact street names or intersections would be nice). I was told to stay away High St... but I have to tell you, I went out to dinner at a small restaurant there, and it seemed nice to me.

I found a house near the memorial park that I went to go look at and loved. Is that area a bad area?

Please, don't respond, "Stay out of Pottstown!" I've been there, it seems nice, and it suits my budget.

Any advice? Thanks for anyone's help

Default Where to Live?

I would stay away from the 300-600 blocks of High, King, Chestnut, Walnut and Beech Streets.

Your best bet is to drive around Pottstown at different times of the day to see what the traffic is like, whether there are loitering issues, etc.

The very nice thing about Pottstown is the divertisty of its population and housing stock. There are all kinds of different housing available.

Good luck!
