I am not just asking only to Erie, but anyone in the state. I am aware that Erie doesn't have many high-paying jobs and lacks business in a regard. What type of stuff like jobs/business, restaurants, amineties would you like to see come out of Erie, PA?

I don't think Erie is lacking in "amenities" or restaurants, honestly. There's plenty to do (and eat) in Erie if you take the time to discover what's available.

The education business is chugging along nicely.

Health care is taking a hit, though, with the UPMC takeover ... erm, excuse me, partnership ... of Hamot. Non-profits may be expanding slightly, but they don't pay property or inventory taxes.

And industry continues to flounder. Last I heard GE is building a locomotive plant in Texas, and has moved some of its locomotive assembly work to China, although I hear it's hiring (you just wonder how long that will last). Smaller-scale light industry would be nice - and a skilled work force is available - but everyone wants those kind of employers.

Tourism is key, but there never seems to be a unified, concerted effort in developing the bayfront, or in marketing the area.

I'd simply like to see Erie become the next Denver or some other similar-sized city.

Well, that's just silly. Erie doesn't have to be Denver, or Chicago, or Cleveland.
