I would like to know how many people have moved from PA and regret their moves. How many are trying to move back?

Default Love Pittsburgh

I grew up in Pittsburgh...now live in Kansas City. I tried Philly a year ago and moved back to K.C. Philly is nothing like Pitt. But good paying jobs are so hard to find in Pitt, so I am stuck in the Midwest....at least the weather is better and the taxes are cheaper.

I live in Westlake, Ohio in the western suburbs of Cleveland. Personally i think the economy is better here and there is much more to do because we are not landlocked. But, that doesnt mean that i dont miss Pennsylvania. I go back every other weekend to see family and friends and catch a Pirates and Steelers game every once and awhile. But i have no plans on going back to PA. The border is only 2 hours away anyway.

Grew up near Pittsburgh and moved to Tampa Bay many years ago. Totally missing the hills, seasons, quiet country roads. Seriously considering moving back.

Well, we are originally from NY and then Jersey and now Florida.
I love Pa. We are going to move there as soon as we sell our home in Florida!

I grew up there and don't miss it at all. In fact, just visiting irritates me. I grew up in Pike County, which is very rural. I live in Mercer County, NJ now and there are 3 movie theaters within 10 minutes of where I live, 3 malls within 15 minutes of where I live, and I can get to NYC or Philly within an hour or so. I can't even estimate how many great restaurants are within 10 minutes of where I live in NJ. Probably when I am older I will appreciate PA more, but right now I don't.

Funny, Christina

From NJ originally. Moved to PA 4 years ago. HATE the winters here, moving to FL, which is where I have been trying to go for almost 30 years. I am finally doing it and will not miss it here at all. It's too hilly, bumpy and way too spread out. NJ is great for all the conveniences, like you mention but I couldn't move back there either. Way too expensive and to fast paced.
I still have family in NJ and my hubby is from NY and has family there, so we are just happy enough to visit.

Default I always said I'd never go back.........

Well, here I am, moving back to PA. Wow, didn't expect that one coming!!!! I always related PA with my grandma's town. Stagnant, ugly, ignorant, and depressed. Yuck!!!! I've been back to visit twice in 20 years. But, here I am, giving it a try in Pittsburgh. Is that a Polka I hear? Do I smell sausages? Frightening really, but somehow still home.

I miss the Philadelphia suburbs A LOT! I've been in FL for almost 2 yrs now. I don't miss winters in PA, but I would move back if my husband would go! He lived there his whole life so he's not interested in moving back there. I've lived other places and know that after a few years you change your mind. There is no perfect place to live but Bucks & Montgomery Counties have some really nice towns. Miss the Jersey Shore too! Nothing compares to the atmosphere, no, not even FL!
