Can anyone give me an approximate $$ amt for things like monthly water, electric & garbage pickup? Also, do you have to have water softeners there?

Depending on your overall usage your water bill can be anywhere from $35-$75 per month and the electric bill can be over $100 during a hot summer. Just about everyone who lives in Lititz has a water softener because of the high amount of nitrates in the water. Without it the water is hard and creates dry skin. I don't know about Waste Management but Good's charges around $60 per quarter for trash removal.

Electric for us is around $100-125 a month for us (with the A/C on in the summer) to the lower $100's and sometimes high $90's in the winter.

we have public water in Lancaster, so it's around $20 a month and the water isn't bad.

We pay from $50 to $150 per month for electric, depending on whether the AC is on or not. We have oil hot water heat and pay about $1200 to $1500 a year for our fuel oil. Our water bill is $90 per quarter. We don't have sewer. If you shop around for a local garbage hauler you may pay less. We pay $51 per quarter for up to four bags per week.

I'm in a township just outside Jtwn, PA....

Our electric runs between $60 and $120 per month depending on usage and season. We have A/C and electric stove.

Our water runs about $70 - $100 per month and same with sewage. This is because we were "forced" to tap-in to the city water/sewage and we get a surcharge based on gallons used that exceed their allotment. We exceed every month because there are 6 people in our home. But, if I lived within city limits, it would only be about $20 to $30 per month for water and about $10 per month sewage. I know because most of my family lives in the city. And neither have softeners. Our water is very good, IMO.

We have oil heat and pay approximately $1,000 - $1,100 per year.

We pay $110 per year for our garbage removal. The city residents pay $165 per year for garbage and an extra $35 for spring clean-up removal.
