I am from outside Philadelphia and my boyfriend lives in NYC. We need to move to an area of New Jersey where he can still commute to NYC but I can be close to philadelphia. I would prefer a nice town, safe, pretty housing, not too expensive. Some people are suggesting Hamilton. Any suggestions?

My advice? Nooooooo, don't do it!!! LOL!

Seriously, I'm sorry I can't help you out. I only know that I'd say to stay away from Elizabeth, NJ and surrounding communities (my BIL lived there for a while and hated it), but that's probably too far from Philly anyway.

Will the tolls on the bridges into Philly be an issue for you? Commuting and paying the toll every day could get expensive.

No I wouldn't be commuting so the tolls would not be a problem

Hamilton, NJ is probably your best bet. Other areas with easy access to NYC and close to Philly are probably too expensive unless you start heading up to the north brunswick area. What exactly is your price range?

How bout Brick Township? You'll be near the beach...my girlfriend grew up there and loved it....

Her daughter lives there now, and she loves it to....
