I live in effort,pa and everyday i make the 100 mile commute to my job in south kearny, nj. i leave the house about 6:30 a.m. just get to work by 9:00 a.m. . Most days it takes 2 plus hours to get there because of traffic and construction. I currently take 78 east. would i be better off taking rte. 80 to work?

Default Just my $0.02

Like someone mentioned there is only one way to find out - but IMO I think you are better off with 78 since it tends to have a three lanes compared to 80 which has only two lanes...

We had someone at our home(E.Stroud) who took 80 to Morristown,NJ and he claimed it was longer then when he moved to Forks ,Pa and took 78.
From Forks, he took 78 to Morristown......he claimed he saved 15 min. or so.
I have to mention, that I was on Route 80 this week between 4:30 and 5PM and it was not crowded. It was on Thursday. We just zoomed through the gap.............
I was very surprised and looking around for where were the commuters.
Isn't it odd that some days are so smooth sailing, and others not. I rarely get backed up on route 80 from NJ, but I am not on that route everyday either.
