I HATE when people use this term. I really hate it when non-residents use it, but honestly it's annoying when PA natives use it too. I'm curious as to what you all think.

Then why did you bring it up?

I believe I answered that in my opening post. I want to know what other people think about the term. So, Ohiogirl81, what do you think?

Not a fan. I can take it when joking around, but when I hear an out of stater use it in a sleight (sp?), then it does tend to annoy a little bit. PA has it's fair share of backwoods type areas, but what state doesn't? Granted I haven't been to every single state, but I've seem plenty. Also I always wondered how Kentucky residents felt about it, if they've ever heard of it being used.

I like the term and I think very highly of Kentucky. Most out of staters seem to think of PA as Philly, Pittsburgh, and Amish country... Pennsyltucky is a fitting term for most of the remaining part of PA.

Some people in this state necessitate the use of the term. The kool-aid drinking people obsessed with football to the point that they worship Joe Paterno even with evidence that he covered for and enabled a child molestor really make me use the term "Pennsyltucky." Actually I think in that instance, it might be an insult to the fine citizens of Kentucky.

It's a pretty good term to describe the state other than Philly and Pittsburgh. I got it from my granfather, he was from Shamokin but lived in Philly.
