Hawley is really nice. We looked around there also for homes in May. I don't know about Lord's Valley though. I know that we want to be above Rt. 84 away from the crowds. I think Lords Valley is near or close to Rt. 84.
The Lake Wallenpaupack area is so tranquil also. Not too crowed, but in the summer you have alot of folks coming up for vacations at the Lake.

I have a home in Hemlock Farms (It is for sale, since I have been relocated to Utah) that we used as a get-a-way from hectic North Jersey. We would run up there every weekend and the wife and kids would spend the summers there. It is a gated community with public safety patrol, so there is no crime. We did not do much shopping while up there, but the Home Depot and Lowes were only 20 minutes away. I could not tell you much about the schools since the kids went to school in NJ. The community web site isWWW.hfca.com

The Hawley area is a nice place to live. It's very peaceful there. Hemlock Farms seems to be a nice community also. You can also try the Hideout, Tink-Wig, WLE, (Wallenpaupack Lake Estates). At WLE you can get a nice home on 1/2 acre with a boatslip. There is also Tanglewood North and Tanglewood Lakes. A bit south of there you might like Sugarhill Estates.
The big Lake is Lake Wallenpaupack which is great for summer boating and other water sports.

I vote for Sugar Hill Estates. Large (1 acre) lots, a very simple life. No ammenties to speak of, just peace and quiet. Very close to Promised Lane State Park and Delaware State Forest. It's part of the wallenpaupack school district which I'm told is quite good. If you check out the school district website, you can see the schools are quite new with plenty of activities for the children.
