My husband and I are considering a move from NJ to PA but being that we're not familiar with the state we're hoping for some input. We have 2 kids, 1 1/2 and 8 so a good public school system as well as great daycares are needed. My husband is an electrician and I'm currently an administrative assistant for the coding and compliance Radiology Dept. however I should be starting a medical coding program and hopefully become a Certified Medical Coder. We definitely need a place where we have a high possibility to find work. We are willing to travel about 45 mins. Just to give you an idea, right now we have a 3 bedroom apartment and pay $1600 in rent + seperate utilities which averages about $200 - $250 a month. So we would like something more afforable. Our best interest is to provide a better living for our kids. Area wise, we would like something right in the middle, suburbia. Definitely want cultural diversity. Please help! Thanks!

I think your prices would be very much the same here in the Lehigh Valley.

OK well I know there are tons of other towns/cities in PA so I was looking for someone to help me by giving me options that fit some of my requests.

your question is too vague. Okay about the income stuff. Everyone with kids wants good schools.

What about your interests? Into hiking, camping, kayaking? Your favorite pass time playing with the tv remote? How often do you go out? Dinner? Musical events? Museums? or do you consider a saturday morning auction a social event?

PA is a big state with a lot of variety. Maybe you should take a couple of weeks and vacation here.

Hershey area could be a possibility, relatively affordable compared to NJ and home to the Penn State Milton S Hershey medical campus, very low crime, highly rated schools, more ethnic than economic diversity. Shopping in greater Harrisburg might be a disappointment for you but Baltimore or King of Prussia is easy weekend day trip.
