I have previously been diagnosed and treated with a mental illness of generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder and OCD disorder. I can preform my daily job functions in a good to superior fashion. I live in a small town and my job description requires me to transport clients in a company supplied vehicle. The driving is mostly in and around and about town, on an every day basis, which I have no problem performing.

However on very few occasions, perhaps 4 times a year, clients need transported to locations that trigger and heighten my anxiety to levels of fear obsessions, anxiety disorder and panic attacks, for days prior to the transport.

These transportation’s are high speed driving situations over bridges, overpasses, through tunnels and under tressels.

I explained this to my supervisor and prior the company accommodated me and allowed me to stay back in another job situation to address my concern.

But recently at a performance review the company said they would no longer make exceptions for me. Am I a protected ADA class? What do I do?

Contact the PA Dept. of Labor, the EEOC, or an attorney.
