In the order today, the judge said he had expected the state to have issued more voter IDs.

"For this reason, I accept petitioners' argument that in the remaining five weeks before the general election, the gap between the photo IDs issued and the estimated need will not be closed," he wrote.

That's where I stopped reading. If you can't speak maturely and intelligently on an issue, especially about a Constitutional right, then go back to AM radio.

I think voters know where the state GOP is coming from. After all, they admitted why they want the law and they admitted that their is no issue of fraud:

Pennsylvania admits it: no voter fraud problem

But he noted the court had declined to stop the state campaign advertising the law.

"What raises concerns is whether your average voter is going to understand what's really going on here," he said. "If they continue to run that without telling people there is no longer an ID requirement, is that going to discourage people who don't have ID from going to the polls?"

If I hadn't heard about it here, I would have not gone to the polls since I never bothered to change my registration to match my identification.

If we don't require ID to start a thread, we might have two threads on the same subject and then Obama would be able to steal from everybody.

This coming from the poster who's thread contained the phrase " Jim Crow isn't gone though..". Now that is funny. Hey, who wrote those Jim Crowe laws to begin with? Oh, that's right.

This is a big deal. Republicans are trying to suppress a Constitutional right and they have openly stated as such. Everyone should be appalled at such actions.

The same people who are writing them now.

There's a reason why LBJ stated that his party would lose the South. They flipped over night and now they write laws for a different party.

Please be a little more informed before you post. This ain't AM radio.

Yes, and take your own advice then. How long have you been active in politics? I've been an active member various third parties for 25 years and have been a member of the ALCU for two decades. I've fought for more open ballot access laws and have gathered tens of thousands of signatures to get third party candidates on the ballot. I've seen dirty tricks and under handed tactics from both of the major parties, but one party definitely rises above the other when comes to low levels they will sink to win . Here is a hint, they don't have a (R) next to their names.
