My boyfriend and I are moving into Lancaster City in a few days. Specifically the 500 block of Saint Joseph Street. Does anyone know what that area is like? I've never lived in the city, so I am kind of nervous. Especially since I am a petite female and sometimes don't get off work until 1 am. I'm not too worried about anything other than walking down the street that late. We don't have a driveway and there's no parking on our side of the street. Any insights would be very much appreciated.

My partner is from Conestoga Township, and we have been in Downtown Lancaster walking the streets very late at night the past two evenings for nightlife. Other than the usual few questionable characters you'd see hanging out in every urban center late at night our experiences were uneventful. I've taken quite a liking to Lancaster City myself, and we are considering relocating here from Pittsburgh.
