Hello: I am considering a move to the Cresson or Altoona area. I have recently retired so employment is not an issue. I need some pluses to encourage my better half to see this region in a more positive light. I have visited this area in the past for its railroad related attractions. PRR shops, Horseshoe curve and the tunnels. I stayed at the Station Inn at Cresson with my grandson several years ago. It was a blast. Thanks for your time, Al

I don't know much about the cresson area, but if you interested in Altoona, your better bet would be just a bit south in Hollidaysburg, right outside of altoona. Beautiful small historic town.

I've never been to the Cresson area personally but my sister and her family have many times. They love it. My brother, brother-in-law, and nephew are train buffs and are regulars at The Station Inn. My sister lives just outside Philly and she doesn't want to think of moving (she wants to stay close to the family). But she said if she had to move, this is where she'd like to be. She even told me if I thought about moving, but didn't want to go out of state, this is the spot for me. For her to blow the horn of someplace other than Philly, I know she really has to think highly of it. Good luck!
