I was in Centralia last June. I did not see any fires. Just lots of trees and a few (very few) houses left. Didn't see any smoke either.

I lived in Farrell, PA for 20 plus years. It was a great town to be raised in because of it's values and hard working folks of all ethnic nationalities. What happened to it. It's a shambles and not a good place to live by a long shot.

Not to mention there are a bunch of pretty good restaurants in K of P.

Maybe the guy hates shopping!

Johnstown?

Ah, what can I say. I spent a lot of weekends there with a sweet lady back in the 80's.

I LOVE THAT TOWN!

Let's see... Centralia harbors that underground mine fire, you can't own property there (not like you can truly own property anywhere in the lower 48), it's down to a single digit number of residents, a sinkhole could grab you at any time, no services nor shops, etc. Yeah, I doubt it gets much worse than that. Many other towns may be crime-ridden scumholes but at least you can actually live there. Centralia doesn't even have a ZIP code anymore, meaning that in legal terms it isn't even technically a town.

I think the worst are Johnstown, Chester, Norristown, and New Castle.
