HELLO, Hubby and I are newly retired and trying to move to Raystown Lake area to continue our retirement. No young kids in school but might have granddaughters going to near by colleges some day. What is it like to live year round in Marklesburg, Raystown Lake, Huntingdon area? Bringing my 92 year old mother with us.

I was born in Pennsylvania and think of this as going home to what I call the Holy Land. Hubby is from Hungary and finished 40 years working with the Navy. Mom is a native of PGH.
When we drive up from Everret on Route 26 we feel like we are going home and in heaven.

What activities are there for newly retired folk? Volunteer stuff...
We have to adapt because we are used to city living now.
I go to the Marklesburg sites every night but can not find any personal experiences living there on line only history. Nice historys.
Thanks for responding. We are really looking forward to our move.
