I don't think the one mile radius around University City includes Center City. For instance, the one mile radius around Center City does not include University City.

All I'm finding is GT numbers. I know UPMC alone has 55000 in Oakland. We could estimate but I'm not sure if it'll be accurate. 79800 might be good. The adjoining areas to Oakland aren't job areas ( hill district, Hazelwood, west shadyside, uptown, and schenley park.

Well what we were saying is where they define the center. CC's most likely is city hall. I would assume UC is 34th/market.

Yep, I understand that. I was saying I think they defined them as two separate business district, therefore made sure that their "one mile radii" did not overlap.

Is there anything being built in Oakland currently? Are there any companies moving to Oakland?

1 mile would probably cuts into the part of CMU that would otherwise be considered Squirrel Hill. Not anywhere near as job dense as CC to be sure, but probably not a negligible addition either.

The report says UC proper has a job density of 85/acre, while Oakland proper has a job density of 134/acre. Either way, the job densities for U City decrease when you get to the .5/1 mile radii (41 and 23 respectively) so we can probably safely assume that the epicenter doesn't overlap with the commercial parts of CC. Oakland similarly drops to 37 and 25.

I'm on my tablet now. There is plenty being built (albeit I believe not as much as UC at the moment). When I get home I'll post some links to what's going on here.

Because I want to know more about Oakland. I want to know what's going on in Oakland.... and I want others opinions if they think UCity is passing up Oakland as the third largest PA business district.
