Good day to all, I may be relocated to Trenton, NJ from DC. General research indicates that PA is a more affordable Cost of Living and on the surface, Bucks County and North Penn are excellent School Districts.

So here are the specifics,

Price is pretty wide but $300K - $425K is about my range. I would like minimum 2500 SqFt. Best possible schools. I grew up in North Jersey and live in Northern VA so an hour commute is fine.

Also, I have heard that there is some sort of agreement between the states with regard to income tax. If someone has info on that it is highly appreciated.

I have mapped out an area that stays east of 476 (on the assumption that this is a good boundary). North of 276 (again an arbitrary limit). West of 95 and I have included Perkasie, Dublin and Souderton as my northern border.

Whatever recommendations thoughts or comments are welcomed and encouraged, good and bad.

Many thanks.

Lower Makefield/Yardley is probably your best bet; nice area and Pennsbury Schools are pretty good. Why stretch your commute if you don't have to?

I agree. Live in Lower Makefield/Yardley. Right across the river from Trenton and a great area. Close to a lot of things and in the Pennsbury School district. I went to Pennsbury and I turned out alright... I think?

I live in PA and work in Jersey. There is tax reciprocity. What that means is that you pay PA state income tax (and local tax, like the EIT) and pay NJ for unemployment taxes. Given PA taxes are lower (flat rate of 3.07%) and the EIT is usually 1.2%, you should save as compared to NJ (it's graduated).

Most employers have the payroll ability to set this up, so you don't have to worry about any adjustments.
