The eastern suburbs or Reading are wonderful and safe places to live. The city isn't a desirable place to live. Parts of West Reading, Wyomissing, West Lawn, Sinking Spring areas are very family-oriented and have great school districts.

The chamber of commerce has done a fabulous job of improving the greater reading area. Like most urban areas, it has problems with crime, older homes and jobs. The immediate sorrounding area is very much up and coming with great schools, industry and a pride of ownership.
