Best option is to Drive

Shickshinny is rural town in middle of nowwhere I mean Nowwhere !

NYC into NJ into PA

Follow I-280 W and I-80 W to PA-93 N in Sugarloaf. Take exit 256 from I-80 W

Take exit 256 for PA-93 toward Conyngham/Nescopeck

Upstate NY Syracuse, NY area

Get on I-81 S

Follow I-81 S to PA-29 N in Plymouth. Take the US-11 S exit from PA-29 N

Take exit 164 to merge onto PA-29 N toward Nanticoke/US-11

Take the US-11 S exit on the left

Drive to US-11 S in Shickshinny

Merge onto PA-29 N

Slight left onto US-11 S

You can get close with busing. Martz will get you to Wilkes Barre which is about 30 or 35 minutes away.

Experts in Motorcoach Transportation - Martz Trailways

From there you should be able to take a taxi directly to Shickshinny, or you might be able to lessen the taxi fare by taking an LCTA bus to Nanticoke or Plymouth which are only about 20 to 25 minutes from Shickshinny.

Call ahead about the taxi service, I know there is one in Plymouth.

Shickshinny used to be a stop on the Greyhound local services between Washington and Syracuse (US 11), but a check of Greyhound's website turned up no present-day service. I suspect that what's left has been diverted via Pottsville and Hazleton (I-81).

Berwick, eleven miles to the south, still has two-a-day-each-way bus service via Susquehanna Trailways, and is located on that line's principal route between New York and Williamsport. K-Cab, headquartered in nearby Bloomsurg, bases several cabs in Berwick during daylight hours.

Directly in Shickshinny? There is always the river for fishing/boating but beyond that without transportation there isn't going to be much of anything. Even with the boating you still need to have someone pick you up down river.
