This effectively makes Pennsylvania a universal health insurance jurisdiction. Like clockwork, Tom Corbett is moving to the center as the election approaches.

This isn't going to help Corbett win the election and it may actually cost him future conservative backing if he was to entertain running for office again.

He also needs to persuade some Democrats and Independents to vote for him.

Like clockwork? He's been pushing for an alternative since Ombamacare was passed. 20 years from now when the feds pull the rug out from under the states he's going to look like a genius.

It is not surprising. He has already caved to the teachers union. We are a blue state.

Except there will still be those who can't afford the new plan and will forego having health insurance anyway. Corbett is out on his ass come November. He's really desperate and according to Franklin & Marshal College, despite him releasing infrastructure funds (for political expediency, of course, nothing like trying to buy votes with Road Work signs a few months before his reelection), and dropping his work search requirement in time to get approval, Tom Wolf is still going to just go ahead with the standard Medicaid expansion. Wolf is going to win PA. You can't erase 4 years of teabaggery in a few months, the Philly suburbanites won't forgive him.

Let's say that does happen. 20 years from now nobody is going to remember him or his Healthy PA alternative. This was a political ploy designed to appeal to moderates who wanted Medicaid expansion, while appealing to his teabag base who didn't want Medicaid expanded at all. That's the funny thing, lot of poor whites up here in Perry, Mifflin, and Juniata Counties that will benefit from a standard expansion, but hate "Obamacare" because it's a black Democrat's program. In Kentucky, same story. Idiot whites hate Obamacare, but love KentuckyConnect or whatever it's called, even though K.C. was a direct result of the ACA. In other words, people LIKE the program, just not the Obamacare name. Corbett is finished

I'll take sound financial policy decisions over someone trying to get reelected every time.

Corbett lost me, when he defunded AdultBasic which was funded by tobacco settlements. Qualifying low-income WORKING adults who did not have health insurance could get basic insurance for $35/mo. Yes, there was a waiting list but it was something. Well, he thought the money could be put to "better use" Yeah, okay....

Then there was that whole Camelot Global fiasco. How much money was wasted?
