Can anyone let me know what the towns Springs and Salisbury are like? Good place to raise family? Rural? Good schools?

In my opinion, it is a very good place to raise a family. I grew up there and loved every minute of it. The relaxed lifestyle and the mountains are beautiful. If you are looking for a very rural area, then this is a good match for you. You are in the heart of a large Amish/Mennonite community. I would say the schools are average. They are small, so when it comes to being able to choose a variety of classes in high school, your kids might be at a disadvantage. However, I feel it more than makes up for it in the personal attention you get from the teachers. With some advanced math and science classes in high school only having about 10 kids, it's almost like you are getting the attention you would in a private school. When I was in college, I found I remembered and retained much more information that I had learned in Salisburys schools than my fellow classmates had. I was often asked, "How do you remember learning that?" I'm telling ya, it was the small class size, I loved it. But, I know a community this small is not for everyone. As far as raising a family, it is a very safe place to live, very low crime. Since I was born and grew up there, I was not bothered by "not having nothing to do" as some people complained. The closest Wal-Mart and movie theatre is a good 30 minute drive. But again, if you grew up this way, and you don't mind it. If you come from a larger community and are used to being close to ANY type of recreational activity, this might be a hard adjustment. If this description sounds like what you are looking for, then check it out. I highly recommend it!!!
