Walkable: Sidewalks are nice. Public transit or ability to access stores and work by walk/bike. Lack of loose pit bulls and other dangerous and aggressive dogs. Lack of gangs that punish you for being "not in the right place" when you're out on a walk or you move in because "you don't belong here". I don't need that junk. That's what I mean by live and let live. I don't want to get involved in prison yard style "politics" and have to "know the right people" even to be tolerated.

Music: What I like is classical, especially early vocal. I also love folk, blues, and world music. State College PA is pretty good with that. But is there anything even better?

Being able to grow/hunt my own food would be nice along with excellent locally grown/raised produce.

Having natural areas like parks to walk/hike in is a big plus. Doesn't have to be anything too special. I find the beauty even in urban groves of trees.

I'm assuming you are looking for a new home? You left that out of your post...

Public transit is going to be available in the Philadelphia suburbs and I don't think there are many gangs or loose pit bulls there. I'd suggest filling out the sticky at the top of the forum for better results. The public transportation and your price point will make the location easier to pinpoint.
