Really depends on what you are going to college for, Pitt is great for medicine and basketball, CMU for engineering and fine arts, Penn for business, Penn State for linebacking. Other schools I'm sure have their specialties as well.

LOL, US News/WR Rankings.

I suggest if you think these are useful, you actually research the metric/formula and coefficients.

it is SOOO easy to manipulate your ranking, at least 5-10 spots with spending a few million $ a year.

I wouldn't call Drexel "great" as a whole, but in addition its co-op program, it's pretty good for business, engineering, and the sciences.

Conspiracy theories. I like it. Sounds like your salty that your favorite school doesn't rank highly.

Drexel is a great school man. Stop being a snob. It's not an elite school, but you will definitely goes places with a degree from Drexel.

Faculty salary/compensation goes into the ranking.

I've suggested we get $25,000 raises. It would move us up 6 slots, by itself.

That's why the USNWR rankings are best viewed in broad bands and not point-by-point increments. For some rankings (e.g., law school) the rankings have little utility beyond the very top schools (Temple/Pitt/Dickinson/Villanova are functionally equal; same with Duquesne/Widener/Drexel).
