12 miles northeast of Pittsburgh a new Target opens in March. Spacious 1 BR apt. $450 + electric ($50/mo.). Walk to work.

Western PA, you'll find cheap rent, along with a reasonable proximity to Pittsburgh. My one bedroom apartment in a restored schoolhouse had $350/month rent, including water, located in Floreffe, PA. My landlord held my rent at that rate for 5 years, until I re-married and moved out.

Beaver County, Butler County (outside of Cranberry), Lawrence County, Washington County, Westmoreland County, Greene County, Fayette County - you can definitely find a place with that rent.

Good luck, Shen

Default Clearfield/Jefferson counties

I have driven a school bus in Florida for over fifteen years. Started out in SE PA when I was young and I'd love to "come home". Since I can't afford the prices down near Philly and it's a scary place to live nowadays, I've been looking in your area. Can you give me any info re school transportation departments and who to contact?

I have some friends in Allentown and Easton and both of those areas are dirt cheap.
However, employment is the problem there.
