Hi, we are in are early 30's - looking to get away for a quick weekend getaway over the next few weeks, coming from NJ and don't want to drive more than 2 hours or so if possible. We are not big skiers or anything but we figure we will give it a shot or maybe do some tubing or even snow mobiling if they offer it. More importantly - where do we stay? We want to make sure we are near some fun and nightlife too - happy hour places, bars and restaurants, maybe a casino, etc. After all, this is a boys weekend to cut loose a bit! Any tips? So far I have heard that Camelback or Stroudsburg may be good options but I am looking for more advice and specific recommendations. thanks!

Stay at 4 diamond rated Mt. Airy Lodge and ski at nearby Camelback. But watch out for ski conditions. It's supposed to warm up.

For a more conservative experience, Woodloch resorts have snow tubing and snow mobiling; ditto for Mohonk Mountain House in the Hudson Valley

Thanks! Looks like Mt Airy is sold out for the dates we were looking at. Do you recommend just picking out somewhere else close by to there to stay and then hanging out at Mt Airy at night?

I've never been. Personally, if I'm looking for a ski weekend I'd stay onsite. There's bars/restaurants right there. If you have at least one sober person driving to/from the casino(s) isn't a bad ride.

The last time that I stayed at Pocono Manor, guests were on the American Plan, meaning all meals were included. The resort was also showing its age. I understand that they've done a lot of remodeling since and all meals are now a la carte. The resort caters mostly to families and couples. Single guys whooping it up in their rooms may get you kicked out.
