Hoping for some help from people who have recently lived in, or currently do live in, Gettysburg, PA. We are a married couple in our 40s with no children (and none planned), and we're considering a move to Gettysburg. We currently live in a very nice college town in the Midwest (near Chicago), and we enjoy the activities that our town offers, specifically free music/band concerts in the parks in the summer, a few craft/art fairs several times throughout the year, etc. Does Gettysburg offer outdoor band concerts, either through the village itself, or maybe through the college? I'm having a hard time finding a good calendar of events, but will keep searching.
Anyway, I would love to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly of living in the Gettysburg area.
Also...wondering what you all think of the weather? Many icy-road days? Many days of big snowfalls? Unbearable humidity in summers? Etc.

Gettysburg has a plethora of events due to the local tourism industry. It's a great place for that kind of stuff!

Yeah, but not really bands. If you're looking for bands and artsy things to do, pick a State College or Bethlehem. Bethlehem has Musikfest every year that lasts about a week and a half or so. State College has lots of bands (small cover charge), and Arts Fest in the summer.
