sheesh, went to college in PA, but couldn't find an area specific to the Reading area ..... I didn't think the Philly area applied, certainly not Lehigh... definitely NOT Harrisburg, lol.... my college was only 22 miles east of there so I feel like I'm in a no-fly zone here......

I am desperate to find the absolute best, most luxurious day spa for my oldest friend who lives in Sinking Springs...... She turns 70 this year and I simply adore her, we haven't seen each other in over 40 years, but this woman has NEVER missed one holiday,no kidding, even St. Patrick's day!!!!!!!! birthday, I get at least a card, and very often a gift.... and I'm the opposite sort of person..... I'll never forget Christmas, but my chaotic life has not made it easy to do much else in our friendship. I've already lined up a bunch of gifts that shall arrive over the course of the next few weeks but I'd really love to treat her to the nicest day of pampering... She is the sort of person who does so much for others, to her detriment....her sons are like me, have topsy turvy lives, and but she is always the rock they turn to for EVERYTHING..... daycare for the grandchildren, all holiday celebrations and though she won't complain to them about how tired she is, or it's all too much, I hear it.... and i just need to do this for her.

So. Can you help me with a recommendation for the nicest, most elegant day spa.... anywhere within i guess 20 miles of Wyomissing/Sinking Springs area?? I live far away and can't go visit, and though I'm sure there a host of nice spas in strip malls, i really would prefer a very very elegant, fancy schmancy one where i can blow a barrel of Benjamins on this wondrous, bestest, kindest, most loving person in the entire world!!!!

My union pension plan is down there; but I do not know of any spas. You might want to try posting this question on just the PA forum: //www.city-data.com/forum/pennsylvania/. Many areas of our State want there own forum; but they do not have enough people that respond. Even this NEPA forum is pretty dead from time to time.

Maybe our moderator will move your post?

google isn't always accurate, and certainly doesn't beat 1st hand experience.

can't help you, OP. Never been to that area. Would it be possible to take some vacation time during the year and take her to dinner? All the things you laud her for involve time, not things. quid pro quo

I've heard that Bell Tower is Very Very nice, but Very Very expensive. That's my recommendation. I heard that the people are nice, too.

It looks like there is a Hand & Stone on State Hill Rd in Colony Park. That's obviously a chain, but they're all similar and my wife loves it, so that's at least a fall back for you. I grew up blocks from there, but I haven't been back in the area in 20 years.

There's something behind the old Bowl A Rama in Exeter. I think its a day spa. And maybe behind the Turkey Hill across from the Arby's, I saw a sign there about some kind of spa at the house with all the fountains.
