Hi Thinking of purchasing a lake house to use and rent out possible on water front. Want to be within 3 hours of Pittsburgh. Does anyone one have any favorites. Just starting to search and investigate areas. Treasure Lake seems to fit but don't know much about it. Any opinions on that area? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you!

What's your budget? Lake front homes are expensive and especially this time of year.

There's no problem on asking for an area to look at, but single listings of homes or Realtor recommendations are against the terms of service.

Western PA does not have very many natural lakes. They're all in NEPA. If I lived in Pittsburgh and wanted to buy a really great lake front or lake home, I'd look for a property on Lake Erie and not restrict myself to just in PA. Look into Ashtabula County Ohio, Erie County, PA, and both Chautauqua Lake and Chautauqua County, NY.

You should also ask this question in the City-Data Pittsburgh sub-forum.
