Hi all, is it possible to park THOW (tiny homes on wheels) on back yard of a friends house and live legally? If so, do I need any permits for this? This house located in Ben Avon is borough in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. Thank you in advance!

That would depend on local zoning. My guess you could for a short time like guests staying in an RV. Check local zoning laws.

Until you talk to the zoning officer for whatever jurisdiction you are thinking of moving a tiny house to, you might just as well ask this question to a tree. Any opinion, or advice from anybody BUT that person is worthless, ESPECIALLY if they tell you that it's "just fine, nobody will care". Chances are, you will find that most places have no interest in allowing you to do what you are proposing. Finally, as a retired builder and investor, IF you get a yes from any governing body, pursue it further, and find the actual laws and printed language that specifically allow you to do so, in the books of the town, township or whomever is in charge. Do not spend tens of thousands on a tiny home that you cannot occupy based on some friendly official that says, "sure, I think it will be fine" only to have your new neighbors going bananas, and attend council meetings DEMANDING that you and your trailer roll on out of their backyards, immediately.

Good luck, what you are trying to do is not impossible, but close.
