Hello all, I was wondering if anyone could tell me if diversity is widespread in Uniontown 15401 area? My husband and I are both retired, African American, and would love to settle down in this area. Would we feel welcome, or should we look elsewhere? We're looking to spend a little over $225,000. Thanks in advance!

Never been to Uniontown, but some of the towns around Pittsburgh could offer what you're looking for.

Can't help you too much with that part of the state. Good luck anyhow.

The area isn't very diverse. I can't speak to how welcome that you would feel, but the area is a little isolated.

go visit. buy some groceries, ask for help at the library, go to some community event. Look, interact and decide.

Out of all the areas in the entire country I'm curious how you chose Uniontown. (That's IF this is more than a one-time post)

You might want to repost this in the Pittsburgh forum for more responses. Uniontown is definitely not diverse, but that doesn't mean you would not feel welcome. If diversity is a major issue for you, maybe look into Morgantown,WV. It isn't far from Uniontown and has West Virginia University there, so students from all over the world are there and diversity is big.

Thanks for your responses. At the time of my posting, I'd fallen in love with a house I saw for sale online. We've since purchased a lovely home in Hershey, PA.

We're living in tough times, so everyone stay safe. Thanks again!

Cool, we did some intense searching and eventually ended up in Lancaster County. that said, we looked at several homes in Hershey, and it's a pretty cool place to live. Enjoy.
