Does anyone have any experience with Pacenet and how it works? My mother-in-law is 82 and collects SSA... her medication is unaffordable at this time. Looking to see what may help to lower her costs of prescription medications..... any information would be appreciated !

Not sure about Pacenet, but the larger question is what she is eligible for as part of the Pennsylvania Medicare buy-in program. You can contact the APPRISE folks at this pa.gov site and they should be able to assist. The level of assistance/benefits is all based on low-income requirements.

There are actually two programs in Pennsylvania: Pace and Pacenet. Your income determines which one you might qualify for.

I have Pacenet in addition to my Part D coverage. They submit to your Part D coverage first and then Pace or Pacenet. It does help. For example, one thing I was prescribed would have cost me $36.00 just with the Part D coverage. After they also submitted it to Pacenet the cost came down to $8.00.

Depending on your income I believe they might also help to pay for your Part D premium. This is one website that summarizes the program and shows an enrollment form. Call them and they will help you to get the best coverage for your mother-in-law's situation.
