Ok, here is the deal....my husband is now working in Trenton and we need to shorten his horrible commute! We have been bombarded with suggestions and I wanted to ask city-data.com users their opinion....

Bucks County (Yardley, Newtown) .... are they nice? Would this run about 20 minute commute?

Monmouth County - people say "western monmouth"..... is this the Manalpan area? Manalapan schools seem really good but is it a "community" type of place.

We have 2 very young kids but want this to be our last move and are looking for a great neighborhood with young familes and good school system.

Any ideas/advice would be great!!!

It's all about what you want to spend.

Mostly from Newtown east will be a 20-minute or less commute to Trenton, and you'll save a few bucks over Princeton to West Windsor areas in NJ with the same commute.

What are you looking to spend? What type of neighborhood?

If you buy in Lower Makefield (meaning just ouside to the SW of Yardley Borough), you're fifteen minutes closer to the beach on Saturday mornings, and the weekly swim classes at the middle school are only $75 for ten lessons .. just trying to provide some positives nobody thinks about. [Trying to come up with something different, here, since everybody always posts the same tired reasons for various towns.]

If you buy in Newtown, that's fine, too.
