I am currently living in Los Angeles and working as a general contractor. I grew up in Ohio and visited Gettysburg as a kid. Now, after having returned to G-Burg last year for a visit, I am considering moving there permanently to escape this smog pit. I am a journeyman cabinetmaker, house framer, and finish carpenter, and have been running my own business in Los Angeles for quite a while. I expect to take a large drop in income by moving to Adams County, but also a similar drop in cost of living. Does anyone know what the market is likje in Gettysburg for re-models and general building projects? I have also considered starting a retail operation and selling reproduction 19th century cabinets, chairs, and benches that I would make myself. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, I love the Gettysburg area.
