Hi My fiance and I have been looking for houses in this community. It looks like a beautiful place to live but we don't know the first thing about it.....My main concern is how much it costs to live there, like a member fee or something like that. When you buy a house there, you'd pay a morgage and other obvious bills but I need to know everything other than that. It might sound silly, but i'm only 20 and im very very new at this!! Thanks for helping!!

Google it. I know they used to have a web forum where you could ask questions and read about the happenings there. I was looking at it, but decided against it for now. It is a large development, mainly second and weekend homes, where the owners had the right to rent out their home. I felt that I didn't want to have my primary home in a rental community, but someone else might have a different opinion than that.

The houses are very close together in this community and it mostly second and week-end homes. I am not sure if it is in North Pocno or Wallenpaupack School District. I knw Wallenpauapck School District is very good and I beleive North Pocono is also a good school.

Good luck

I have lived here 13 years in The hideout. As far as rentals go, on occassion a neighbor may rent their vacation home out for the summer, but it is really no different than the owner coming for a visit. If you didn't know the owner personally, you would never even know it was a renter. Rentals are few and far between. Houses are on 1/2 acre lots (mostly wooded) if you consider that close together... School district is Western Wayne.
As far as the web page, there is also an unofficial forum on the web, not the true web-site for the community. You must register and be a member to post on the official web-site. The other is owned by a Hideout Resident.
