OMG Wanda Sykes just moved to Media!! I live in Devon and absolutely LOVE it but if I would've known that one of my favorite comedians had moved to Media I think I would be living there right now.

But seriously, I think Wayne and Devon area are wonderful. Great for families. Media seems more like a place for singles.

Everybody's Hometown is for singles only? I think you need to visit Media. It is very family friendly and the people are wonderful and probably more skewed toward older than younger. It's not Manayunk, it's Media!

No doubt, Media is a quiet family oriented town.

Media is well known for its clubs, bars, and nightlife. Not to say that those things are exclusive to singles but most young families don't hit the club/bar scene all that much.

I also wanted to add that as a whole, most of the Philly Burbs are family friendly. P.A. as a whole seems extremely family friendly to me. The Starbucks down the street from me has a play area for kids with toys and books! I'm really happy I moved here.

I admit I don't go to Media in the evening but I never thought of it as such a happening singles place - I go there because it has Trader Joe's and a great noodle shop and a Ten Thousand Villages shop. I also like their small town library and walkable streets. Compared to Chadds Ford I guess it's pretty lively, but that wouldn't be too much of a competition.
