Can anyone tell me if the leaves in Wellsboro, specifically the PA Grand Canyon, are at their peak yet, or did we miss it? Thinking of driving up there this Sunday, but one year we went past peak and it was so disappointing - and ugly! Our leaves here are just starting to turn but I know it happens sooner up north.

I just drove through the wilderness of Clinton and Centre Counties the other day along I-80 en route to State College, and the leaves were very near to peak. It was absolutely gorgeous. I'd have to guess that the leaves further north in Tioga County are probably at peak right now. Enjoy your trip, and have lunch at the Wellsboro Diner!

I drove rt. 555/120 through elk country and then up along Pine Creek to Wellsboro today and it was unfrickinbelievable, and the weather was perfect. I never saw so many people in north central PA, bikers everywhere. It's either at peak or just about at peak. Now is the time with the weather like it is.

Well, we didn't get a chance to go this weekend after all, and I know we won't get to go next weekend either. We'll just have to enjoy the beauty around here. The leaves are finally starting to change and there are some beautiful places here too. One that comes to mind, for you locals, is Stein Lane between Dry Valley (Route 304) and Lewisburg. That's absolutely gorgeous at its peak.

I think places that are known for fall foliage should have a webcam instead of people asking each other about the leaves. Would be a great idea for a hotel to set it up.

I've been away for almost 2 weeks and when I got back to Wellsboro today it still looked good. I haven't been down in the canyon for 3 weeks though, which at that time was still looking green mostly or starting to turn. I'd say the leaves are the best I've ever seen. Today I drove from the Catskills back home and it was unbelievable. I'll try to get out tomorrow and check out how it still looks outside of town.
