Is it unspeakably congested with traffic and people? Is it unspeakably expensive and/or impossible to find temporary housing there? Considering a nursing travel assignment there, but not wanting to exchange one megalopolis for another.

Thank you for any insight you can provide.

Its just outside the main 'burbs. Still fairly wooded though surrounding areas are being developed. Homes are more expensive, but I'm sure you can find a reasonable rental there or in nearby Media, Aston, or somewhere south on Rt 1.

Nice area, you should like living there...

Thornton is pretty much just suburban sprawl, not much of a town center. Rental homes are probably not real common but as orrmobl said, there will be something in the area nearby.

Thornton and Thorndale are two different places, but both are in Chester county. How confusing is that? Thornton is just southeast (I believe that's the correct direction) of West Chester bound on the west by route 202 and on the south by Route 322.

Thorndale is between Downingtown and Coatesville. Thorndale is in Coatesville school district in Caln township. At least I think it's all in Coatesville. I may be wrong about that and part of it may in Downingtown. Orrmobl probably knows the definitive answer about that.
