^^^I drove from Erie (Lawrence Park) to Philadelphia, and it took me 9 hours. Ugh. We were stopped near Clearfield where the road was iced over, waiting for salt trucks. It took us an hour to drive about six miles. The rest of the way, it was pouring down rain and 32 degrees. Ugh. A lot of the time I couldn't go faster than 40 or 45 mph.

Usually I take I-86 across southern New York, but the weather up there was worse this trip.

You're right about Friday's snow/rain/sleet being more manageable. I was driving all over town on Friday and Friday night -- no problems at all! In Erie nobody bothers to spread cinders or salt or plow unless there's at least five inches of snow and everyone goes about their business as usual; in the southern part of the state, just the mere threat of snow sends everyone in a tizzy (and to the grocery store to buy bread or milk!). Cracks me up.

Yeah I never understood the bread and milk thing. If you lose power, won't the milk go bad? And what can you really make with a loaf of bread? It happens every time there's any kind of weather, be it snow or tropical storms - everyone stocks up on bread and milk. Maybe I'm missing something. Is there some really delish thing you can make with only bread and milk?

Love my charcoal grill, not fond of bread pudding though. Maybe that's why I don't get it! I don't drink cow's milk anyway. Prefer my almond milk, it doesn't upset my tummy like regular milk does.
