Thumbs up Treasure Lake

I just moved into Treasure Lake about 10 months ago. It is great. If you have looked at treasurelakepoa.com, then that's just about it.

I have 2 small daughters and they love the activities available here. There is an indoor pool and multiple outside pools. Then there are the lakes (Treasure, Bimini, and Little Flipper for the kids to fish in). There are 3 beaches and a nice play area with pavilions and volleyball courts. There are also playgrounds areas. There is a horse stable, biking trails, a hiking trail, and an archery range. There is a nice campground area with miniature golfing available. There is a convience store with gas pumps. There is a bank, fire department, fitness center, hair salon, and massage therapy store. There are the 2 golf courses, if you golf. There is a ski lodge, whoever no skiing. There is a nice sledding hill for the kids. There are multiple restaurants in here as well. There also is very nice, small interdenominational church. It has 3 services on Sunday and another coming on Saturday. The church is in the process of expanding. They are finalizing design plans on making the church larger.

This is a nice place to live. You are within a 5 minute drive to the town of DuBois and it's amenities. The only thing I wish it had was a SUPER WalMart. It only has a regualr WalMart. The closest SUPER WalMart is in Clearfield or St. Mary's. There are 3 other grocery stores in DuBois. There is the mall, that could use a little updating and better stores. All in all, DuBois is a nice town. I have not witnessed any problems (crimes, drugs, etc).

You can be to State College in a little over an hour, Pittsburgh in 2 hours, shopping outlets in Grove City in 75 minutes, Erie in 2 hours, Altoona in 75 minutes, and Johnstown in 2 hours.

Hope this helps. The local paper is thecourierexpress.com

I noticed some homes for sale there whan I was looking through a centre county real estate book. The houses looked really nice and weren't that overpriced. I believe it is near Dubois. Sounds like a nice area.

While watching my friend, who is a member, look for property on Treasure Lake,I asked my Caucasian friend to check the area for African-Americans
actually living there and was taken aback when he mentioned that there were none.
However,I am certain that a Doctor, myself, with millions to my prominent name, would be welcomed with open arms in the lake community.
My wife of 20 years, also a Doctor, and nine children would love the area.
I mentioned these homes to my funeral director brother and his family, who are also well off financially.New Cadillac every year etc.But he told me that I was a fool to puchase a $700,000 saltine box in an area where
the sunshine is as rare as hen's teeth.
Any thoughts on the matter, please direct them to my member friend. My wife and I are working with a realtor and will be paying cash for a summer home a.s.a.p.
Then my 6 brothers and 2 sisters are sure to follow.Good people.
Advise please.

Here is a link to a Treasure Lake home for sale for $198,328. It has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a two car garage. It was built 14 years ago and has a water view. The kitchen looks very nice with S.S. appliances and the house altogether looks great. This seems like a very resonable price for this house.

Can you tell me what school my kids would go to? I see there is only one Middle and High School, but a few Elementary schools. I'm assuming Oklahoma, but I'm not sure...would this be correct?

Thanks...
