I currently live in Long Island, NY, but am taking a position in Philadelphia. I would like to live somewhere that is commutable to both Philly and NYC, as I may come back to NYC to work in a few years. I have 2 young children, so school district is very important. Can spend in the $700's for a nice, modern house. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would shoot for bucks county around newtown or yardley, they are both equidistant between philly and NYC, I believe they are both in the council rock school district which is one of the best in the area. if you want a nice place try Orleans homebuilders. I used to work for them and they have some nice single family homes in your range

Newtown /Yardley would be good.....Close to both citeis, good roads, trains, good options for the job markets in both cities as well as NJ. Great schools.

This is what drove my decision to be in Newtown 15 years ago. I got a house to sell if you wish... we are moving to our home in the Poconos
