Is it a hate crime or free speech if someone places fliers on the windshields of cars with pink elephants printed on them?

The problem with 'hate Crime Laws" is that they do nothing but promote double-standards.

I think crimes are crimes and any crime I consider hate, so to me having a separate "hate crimes" law is another example of liberal retardism.

If it makes a person think twice and they know that there may be a stiff penalty for a senseless attack due to sexual orientation or something else that falls in hate crime realm I'm all for it. If it can detour crimes of this nature I don't consider it a bad thing. All laws have their negative points. It will do more good than harm.

In fact it does far more harm than good.

Would this considered a "Hate Crime?"

Video: Gay men attack old woman, stomp on crucifix she held

I doubt it.

There were reports that this little old lady was elbowing folks to make her way through the crowd, knocked over a gay disabled individual, and is a well known 'agitator' at these events. She didn't deserve to have the crucifix knocked out of her hands but she isn't the innocent victim these reports make her out to be. So while the behavior of having her crucifix knocked out of her hands was inappropriate, the treatment she received was a reaction of her violent and inappropriate behavior.
