Hello, I'm new here. My family is moving to Schuylkill County, but we dont know what town yet. We LOVE the country & are considering Klingerstown, PA. If anyone knows anything about Klingerstown, PA we would love to hear about it to help us make our decision about moving. Anyone know about any Assembly of God churches in that area? How far away are they? How are the schools? I will have 1 child in elementary school & one in middle/jr high school. How are job opportunities in the Klingerstown, PA area-w/in a 1 hr. drive? What can the children do for FUN? How's the crime rate in that area as well? That's enough questions for now. WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY INFORMATION ASAP as we have an appointment this week w/ our real estate agent. THANKYOU FOR ALL YOUR HELP. Blessings to all!!

I was actually surprised to learn that Klingerstown is in Schuylkill County. I guess because it's so close to Gratz, which is in Dauphin County, I thought Klingerstown was too. That's a beautiful, open, rural area. Gratz has a fair in September that's quite nice, but small. We went years ago and for the price of parking you had admission to the fair and to the shows. We saw the Bellamy Brothers there and it was great.

Sorry I can't help with any of your specific questions. I'm not sure what schools serve Klingerstown. I had a friend in high school who lived in Gratz for a while and he said the schools (Upper Dauphin, I believe) were good there, but I don't know if Klingerstown would go the same schools or not.

Good luck to you in making your decision. I would caution you to be careful of old coal towns in Schuylkill County. You don't want to get caught in a Centralia-type situation, with a coal mine fire burning underground or the danger of cave-ins. Check carefully and ask the realtor lots of questions before making any final decisions.

It might be Williams Valley High school in Williamstown / Tower City. it is very remote, not many jobs there, most people commute to harrisburg or sunbury for jobs. it is very beautiful though. my friend's grand parents own a car repair shop in erdman.

klingerstown is close to gratz, they have a company called MI that makes doors and windows and stuff like that. you are probably about 45 minutes from harrisburg and about 45 minutes to sunbury. a lot of people from that area commute to work, they really have small part time jobs for petty cash, but that's about it nothing career oriented. that is like the intersection of dauphin, northumberland and schuykill counties. they ahve some small mom and pop shops if i remember correctly. a few auto repair garages, but that's it. it is very beautiful, peaceful, and lots of stuff to do, look out at the mountains and valleys and cornfields. it is very rural besides that.
