Looking for pretty scenery, good economy, welcoming to outsiders, and good schools with activities for families. Read the polls about favorite regions and a lot of people pick North Central Pa, just not sure what areas this would include.

I think for good economy (or at least job opportunities) you'd have to go near a larger city, such as Harrisburg, Lancaster, Carlisle, etc.

Agreed. My wife works with several people who have or currently live in Mechanicsburg and they really like the town. Safe, quiet, good schools and close to Harrisburg.

The schools are considered better than many other Northern Tier locations, maybe because they're more in debt for new buildings than elsewhere.

The schools are considered better than many other Northern Tier locations, maybe because they're more in debt for new buildings than elsewhere.
