Simply, Philly. Philly is slower paced compared to N.Y. though.

being more fast paced doesn't mean better though. I lived in Philly, It is a cool town. Its not New York though. To many people there think they are New York or something.

Philadelphia hands down. Pittsburgh is more of "small big city" whereas Philadelphia is just a "big city." Pittsburgh feels more like a bunch of independent towns lumped together due to all of its unique neighborhoods and varying topography, whereas Philadelphia's neighborhoods blend into one another less noticeably. I-95 runs through Philadelphia, and just about every city along that corridor has the reputation of being a rat-race. Pittsburgh's cost-of-living is much lower than Philadelphia's, which makes people there less driven to work longer hours to afford a comfortable lifestyle, which leads to lower stress levels and a slower pace of life. I'd live in Pittsburgh anyday over Philadelphia in a heartbeat; it reminds me of a larger Scranton.

Obviously Philly is faster-paced than Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh is more laid-back. Even if you're in a hurry, it's nothing compared to Philly. Philly seems much more frightening, whereas I'm very comfortable in Pittsburgh.

And LOL to SWB, because I've always seen PGH as a more grown-up Johnstown. Both (former) steel towns, both have "3 rivers", both very blue-collar and ethnically diverse with many neighborhoods that make up the whole.
